I just discovered Karine Laval's swimming pool photographs in last week's edition of The New Yorker. With the exception of the image below, Poolscape #1, the lighting is harsh and reminds me of Merry Alpern's voyeuristic series Shopping. Poolscape #1 is currently in the exhibition Summer Place and is certainly reminiscent of David Hockney's paintings. Laval's Twin Triptych is also worthy of investigating.
