Yesterday Amelia and I wandered around the IMA's 100 acres of land that is gradually becoming home to artwork/earthworks by Kendall Buster, Los Carpinteros, Jeppe Hein, Alfredo Jaar, Tea Makipaa, Type A, Atelier Van Lieshout, and Andrea Zittel. It opens in June 2010.
Here is Andrea Zittel's Indianapolis Island before it will be sent out to the middle of the lake. One or two students from Herron School of Art will be living in the structure over the summer.
Also of interest (but no photographs as of yet) were Tea Makipaa's Atlantis, and one of my favorite artists, Alfredo Jaar with Park of the Laments.
In the meantime, behind the scenes at the IMA Photo Department.

Horned toads are the best! (pLopLop Show at Big Car Gallery).
... and fluorescent food is wrong (even if it is pink & displayed on a platter with pretty birds)!
