3 hours later, 4 people and 12 trips over a sand dune down to the sea, and the purge is over. We chose the location near Robert Adams's photograph depicted in the post below... south of the SW Jetty where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean in Fort Stevens State Park. We tried to keep the fire under the legal "lawn chair" size and managed to burn everything except a small handful of metal objects which were retrieved and thrown away elsewhere.
