H and I spent one cold, rainy evening emptying 3000 gallons of water from the inflatable pool. At one point I looked down to see worms floating around the ankle deep water that would no longer soak into the lawn. Good-bye summer. I miss you already.

Inventories & Autobiographies

Christian Boltanski, Inventory of Objects..., 1974


Sol LeWitt, Autobiography, 1980

LeWitt's Autobiography is an inventory of his own life while Boltanski's is a biography of an anonymous woman's from Bois-Colombes. They both define lives by personal possessions. Boltanski's is more objective while LeWitt is more personal. They are both proving to be inspirations as I continue my long time collection of the autobiography.

Autobiography: Lunch Bags

All the lunch bags I used and reused from 2000-2007 (documenting my life as an adjunct). I stopped using one the moment it had a hole pierced through usually by my knife used to cut fruit in pieces.

The new album as photographed at Landlocked Music in Bloomington, Indiana. Every time Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks are in town, that's where I will be. I'm not as fond of Mirror Traffic as I am the previous three albums but here's to hoping I will hear 1% this evening. Also, I'm really sorry that Janet Weiss is no longer playing drums with the Jicks but I'm completely enamored with her new band Wild Flag (and I can't wait for the new season of Portlandia).
